Welcome to Beechwood
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! Though our second year was non-traditional by all accounts, Beechwood Middle School had many achievements and much to celebrate, thanks to our staff, students, parents, and community. Consequently, I am hopeful and excited for this school year. I am certain that this year will be filled with growth and success for ALL of our Bengals!
Beechwood Middle School (BMS) is committed to fulfilling the vision and mission of Lexington District One to empower each child to design the future and cultivate a caring community where ALL learners are extraordinary communicators, collaborators, creators, and critical thinkers. With this in the forefront of all we do at BMS, we are proud that our affiliation with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IB MYP) as a candidate and our focus on computer science essentials frame our students’ experiences through a rigorous, balanced, and inquiry-based course of study enhanced by service and authentic real-world connections. Our teachers are committed to providing our students meaningful, engaging, and responsive instruction.
In addition to academic preparation and because we believe that relationships are at the core of student success, all of our students will participate in social-emotional learning and skill development around resilience and the Lexington One Power Skills through their advocacy time. This important work will prepare our Bengals to apply real-life skills to guarantee continuous relevant learning.
At BMS, all of our students will be able to pursue their gifts in academics, arts, athletics, or other unique abilities while at the same time developing as well-rounded young people who are creative and reflective citizens. Our BMS faculty and staff are committed to advocating for ALL of our students and establishing strong connections with our families and community.
Go Bengals!
