Weekly Updates from Mrs. McNair

Good afternoon!

This week we are celebrating Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week at Meadow Glen Elementary! I am thankful for the men and women who show up each day, ready to care for and educate our Explorers. I hope you take the opportunity sometime this week to let staff and teachers know the impact they have had this year!

Friday, May 7, is Better World Day. The MGES community has worked throughout the year, collecting items, celebrating each other, and supporting community needs through fundraisers such as Linking Lexington and American Heart Heroes. I am proud to be a part of a school that works hard to make where we live a Better World.

Our cafeteria staff are School Lunch Heroes and May 7th is also School Lunch Hero Day! From lunch lines to food carts, our ladies in the cafeteria have gone above and beyond to make sure we all have healthy, tasty meals to get us through the day. Say thanks to your lunch ladies this week because they are our Heroes! Friday will be Spirit Day/Dress like a Hero Day in honor of our MGES Cafeteria Heroes!

Regular and Immersion 5K registration is open! Immersion registration is available through the regular 5K process or through the Immersion Registration Link.

The Fifth-grade food drive is wrapping up. Barrels will be picked up early this week. If you had items and forgot to bring them by, they can still be brought in Monday morning. Thank you for supporting the Lexington community.

Don’t forget about the Counseling Survey sent last week. Your input helps us better support you and your children.

And, in case you missed it, here is one last chance to complete our State Department of Education Parent Opinion Survey.  To access the Parent Opinion Survey click on this link: https://ed.sc.gov/surveys/parent-survey/ The ID for our school is 3201067. This should only be completed once per student. Thank you for helping us best serve the students of Meadow Glen Elementary School.

Be sure to send a note/medical excuse to school or email Mrs. Manley at lmanley@lexington1.net any reasons for your child's absence and keep our school nurse, Rebekah Flanagan, updated on any signs of sickness in your household.

Spirit Days are EVERY Friday! You can still order spirit gear at our MGES PTO Online Store.

All students continue to receive no-cost breakfast and lunch meals at school.
