Weekly Updates from Mrs. McNair

I cannot believe our last week of school has arrived. We have all worked together through many challenges and changes. I appreciate the fact that through it all, we have worked together to find ways to support each other and our students.

Fifth-grade families - we are looking forward to celebrating our fifth graders on Tuesday, June 8 from 4:30 -6:30 with a promotion drive-through. Plan to decorate your vehicles and enjoy music and fun celebrating each of these amazing students!

We look forward to seeing our LOOLA families at your assigned times Monday and Tuesday. Kindergarten through fourth-grade students, don’t forget to bring your devices and chargers with you when you come by school this week.

Even though we only have three more days, those water bottles continue to be very important. Don’t forget to send one each day with your child.

All medications (both prescription and over-the-counter) must be picked up by the end of the school day on June 9th. If they are not picked up, they will have to be destroyed. As a reminder - children are not allowed to transport medication, so a parent will need to come in to pick these up. Thank you so much. Please contact Rebekah Flanagan at 821-0454 with any questions.

Wednesday, June 9, is our last day of school and dismissal is at 11:40 am. Our school cafeteria will serve breakfast and lunch Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Continued information:

  • The Lexington County Public Library will kick off its Summer Reading program this week with the 2021 Summer Reading Fest at the Icehouse Amphitheater in downtown Lexington! This FREE event is scheduled for Friday, June 4, and will feature a mainstage show, "Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed," presented by the Columbia Children's Theatre. Before each showing (4:00 PM and 6:00 PM), there will be games, storytimes, a craft, summer reading information tables, and more, underneath the Pavilion at the amphitheater. If you would like to attend, they are requiring tickets to manage capacity. Those tickets are available via their website at https://lexcolibrary.com/programs. The event is free, as are all public library services, and open to all ages! We hope to see you there!

  • If you haven’t already, please return those library books to the school. We want to collect 100% of the books that are out so keep checking those hiding spots!
