My name is Elizabeth Houck "Beth", and this is my 28th year in education. I am excited to say all 28 years have been in Lexington County School District One. This is my 12th year at Saxe Gotha Elementary (SGE) and ninth year as principal at SGE. I am from a very small town in the Midlands of SC, Bethune, where I grew up on a small farm. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Wofford College, a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of South Carolina, and a Master of Arts in Education Administration from the University of South Carolina. White Knoll Elementary was my teaching home for eleven years before joining the Gilbert Elementary School family for one year as a Technology Integration Specialist (TIS) before coming to SGE as an assistant principal in 2009. I live in Columbia, SC with my one-year-old Boston Terrier, Lucy. I enjoy spending time with my parents, sitting on the beach with a good book, playing golf, and cheering for the Gamecocks.
