Hi Everyone! My name is Shamala Anderson. I am so thankful and grateful for the opportunity to do what I love - teaching. I am a native of Columbia, South Carolina and a graduate of Richland School District One. Before pursuing and obtaining my Masters in Teaching (Elementary Education) from the University of South Carolina, I worked 13 years in the private-corporate sector. I earned my Masters in Human Resource Management in 2004 from Webster University and my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism in 2001 from Benedict College. I was also named Saxe Gotha’s Teacher of the Year in 2018-2019. This is my sixth year teaching and my fifth year teaching third grade at SGE. Prior to teaching third grade, I taught fifth grade for one year in Saluda County School District. Currently, I live in West Columbia with my amazing husband (Randolph) of 13 years. We have four wonderful children; Kia (bonus daughter) Shakori, Sydni, and Randolph III (Tré). When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends. I also love to decorate, listen to music, watch television, and play basketball.
