Kara Corley (Encore House Leader)
Kara Corley comes to MGM with over 18 years of experience as a middle school dance educator. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance & Choreography, Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education with K-12 Certification and Master of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College. She is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher, was the Teacher of the Year at Hand Middle School in Columbia, the SC Dance Educator of the Year and a top 5 finalist for District Teacher of the Year in Richland School District One. Mrs. Corley has a diverse dance background with experience in most genres in dance including creative dance, ballet, modern/contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, world dance and more. She spent 10 years as a performing member and rehearsal director for The Power Company, a contemporary dance company in residence at Columbia College. Although Mrs. Corley spent the majority of her life performing on stage, these days she is busy as a mother of 3! Mrs. Corley and her husband are the proud parents of their daughter Hannah, as well as their twin sons Eli and Jonah. They are a family who loves Disney, rollercoasters, parks and time on the beach. Mrs. Corley is passionate about students finding their creative voice through dance and is excited to see this take place at Meadow Glen Middle!
