  • 2021-22 Kindergarten Enrollment
On Thursday, April 29, 2021, Lexington County School District One opens enrollment for 5-year-old kindergarten for the 2021–2022 school year. Families may enroll their students online this year for convenience and the safety of our students, their families and our staff.

You can enroll your child for kindergarten here once the process begins.

If your child turns 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2021, your child is eligible for 5-year-old kindergarten.

If your child currently attends a 4-year-old kindergarten program in Lexington District One, you do not need to complete this online enrollment process.

If you do not know which school your child is zoned for, go to our website at, hover over the “Schools” tab, choose the “School Locator” link and fill out your information.

To enroll your child, the following documents are required.

    • Child’s official birth certificate with parents’ name on it (not wallet or short certificate)

    • Completed South Carolina Certificate of Immunization

    • Proof of residency including a current utility bill/statement (for example, electric or water) showing your name and home address within the district

    • Your South Carolina driver’s license or other state or federal photograph identification

If you are unable to produce any of the documents listed above or complete enrollment online, please contact your child’s zoned school or the Office of Student Services at 803-821-1029 to discuss alternative documentation that may be acceptable.

Message From Our Principal

  • Hello LIONS,

This week, we will celebrate the incredible people that serve our little LIONS every day.  This year has presented some unusual challenges and put a few obstacles in our path. Our team has really come together to move past any barriers and provide the best education for all of our students. I'm incredibly grateful and honored to work with such a devoted and talented team of educators!

We are continuing to improve our playground and outdoor seating and more changes are on the way. We are also currently working on plans to finish strong and gear up for next year. Kindergarten enrollment is open. If you know a family who lives in our attendance zone and has a child who will be 5 on or before September 1, 2021, PLEASE ask them to go online now and enroll. Share the PDF flyer with them.

The next few weeks will be very busy around NPE! Don't forget to help your child create some balance and take care of emotional needs! Let us know if you need anything or if we can assist in any way. We're always a phone call or an email away.

Thank you for being such an amazing and supportive community!

    Robert Candillo
