    I welcome you to Gilbert Middle School and wish you success as a student here. All of us here want the middle school years to be a great time of learning. I want you to always feel welcome to discuss with the administrative staff of the school any questions or concerns you might have.     Dear Gilbert Middle School Families,

     Lexington County School District One will again offer parents an opportunity to register their students, complete paperwork, and pay fees online through our online registration system for the 2021–2022 school year. This process begins later in July.

     To complete the online registration process, you will need: 

    • Current email address

    • Completed South Carolina Certificate of Immunization

    • Current utility bill/statement, lease/mortgage statement, or property tax statement showing parent’s name and home address within the district for proof of residency

    • Parent’s South Carolina driver’s license or other state or federal photo identification

    • Student’s COVID-19 vaccination card (OPTIONAL) 

      • In the event of COVID-19 exposure, a vaccinated student with a valid vaccination card may not have to quarantine.

    You will receive another email later in July closer to open enrollment later this month. We look forward to another great school year!

  • LOOLA State Testing Beings Week of 5/17

    Virtual/LOOLA 6th-8th grade students will begin SCREADY testing at approximately 9:30am on Wednesday, May 19 with ELA Day One here at GMS.  ELA Day Two is Thursday, May 20, and Math is Friday, May 21.  Friday will conclude testing for 7th and 8th graders.  6th Graders will take SCPASS with a Science test on Monday, May 24 to conclude their testing.  LOOLA students should begin arriving at 9am using our theater car loop.  Students may be picked up from the same car loop beginning at 12:15pm.  

    ALL PARENTS, please make sure your child brings a charged Chromebook to school for each day of testing.  Remember that students will be asked to store any electronics turned off such as phones or smartwatches in their bookbags during testing.  

    Thank you for a successful first week of testing.
