Message From Our Principal

    FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2021

Our International Dot Day was a huge success filled with smiles! Our Mustangs are certainly "making their mark" as caring and kind students! We loved the different ways that students showed their creativity.

Many thanks to each of you for your patience with our Collaborative Planning Day dismissal. We had to adjust as buses had to leave earlier than expected due to getting to the middle schools for their 12:10 dismissal. This created an extended staggering of dismissals with daycares and car riders. The one good thing was that we did not have backed up traffic. This transportation issue, however, should be "ironed out" for the Collaborative Planning Day in October. I do thank you for your understanding!

Well, it is hard to believe that the first day of Fall is Wednesday, September 22. You can tell that the season is gradually changing as the daylight hours continue to grow shorter. With this I want to remind everyone of safety, especially in our parking lots.

Morning dropoff is very busy so please remember to go slowly and be watchful. The children are doing a great job of walking to their classrooms. We have adults in the halls for support if needed. I encourage parents to drop off students at one of the three areas--the bus loop or one of the two loops out front. Help your child build this confidence by walking independently from dropoff. When cars park for walking students up to the front this requires the driver to back out into the moving traffic when leaving. We had almost three accidents in one morning due to cars backing out. If you park for any reason during arrival, you need to be cautious and slow in backing out into the moving traffic when you leave. We have a lot of traffic so safety is the priority! Thank you for your help with this.

Friday, September 24, is Spirit Wear Day!! I can't wait to see the school colors, teal and black, and the Midway shirts! We are family and this is our day to shine!

Have a wonderful weekend! Read a great book with your child and find some time to workout together as a family!

    Yours truly,

    Jan Fickling
