  • CES Weekly News – April 18, 2021

Good evening CES Aviator Families. This is Mr. Branham with your weekly announcements.

The CES PTO will be sending home fundraising information this week. The PTO is partnering with SchoolStore.com to raise funds for essential tools our students and teachers need to succeed. School Store’s program is 100% online, so there is no selling or handling of money or products. Your participation is easy with no more than a few minutes of your time required, and there is a prize program available to make this a fun experience. There are two ways to raise funds for our school:

    1. Renew or purchase magazine subscriptions, DVD’s, cookbooks and more. We earn up to 50% of their purchase.
    2. Shop online with over 400 major merchants like Walmart, Kohl’s, Best Buy, Disney, and more. We earn a small percentage of each purchase.

This Wednesday, April 21, is National Administrative Professionals Day. Our team of Administrative Professionals at CES is out of this world! We could not have the amazing school we have without them. A BIG thank you to Ms. Sherry Bedenbaugh, Ms. Barbara Hendrix, Ms. Eneida Marrero, Ms. Dana Pickard, Ms. Gail Provost, and Ms. Missy Sharpe.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have shifted to new morning drop off procedures over the past week. Please remember that our tardy bell rings at 7:40 a.m. If you arrive at 7:40 a.m. or later you must park, walk your child to the main office, and remain with them until they receive a pass to class. At no time should a child be dropped off in the parking lot or on the sidewalk unaccompanied by an adult. We have been and will continue to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of our morning drop off with a top priority on student safety. We have well over 300 vehicles in our morning car line each day. Generally, the wait time for persons arriving from 7:00-7:25 has been approximately 2-4 minutes. Families arriving after 7:25 have had an average wait time of 5-7 minutes. To help the line move more quickly, please ensure your child has his/her belongings and is ready to exit your vehicle as soon as you pull up to the orange cone.

As a reminder, we will begin removing plexiglass barriers tomorrow afternoon. This process will likely take 4-5 days as the removal will take place after student dismissal each day. Of course, we will continue to socially distance, wear our masks, and wash our hands frequently.

As we like to say here at Centerville - Start Here, Go Anywhere! We are ready to takeoff for another week filled with learning and fun in 2021. See you all tomorrow!

Noticias semanales de CES - 18 de abril de 2021

Buenas noches CES Aviator Families.

    Sr. P. Heath Branham

  • Stronger Together

During this 2020–2021 academic year, Lexington County School District One continues to work to keep our students and staff safe while providing a high-quality education.

We believe that we should keep our internal and external public informed about the impact of COVID-19 on our schools and have created a DASHBOARD which does that. The dashboard, which contains that important information, is updated no later than 12 p.m. each weekday. The student and staff active positive numbers are the number of students and staff with COVID-19. The number of students and staff excluded includes all individuals who exhibited COVID-19-like symptoms or who are on quarantine as close contacts, etc.

As this process continues, we will update this webpage with more information. We hope that you will check back often to learn what we are doing as we navigate that process. We encourage you to share your questions for us by emailing communications@lexington1.net.
