    Week of January 18 - January 22, 2021

Good evening CES Aviator Families. This is Mr. Branham with your weekly announcements.

Please remember, tomorrow, Monday, January 18th, is a staff and student holiday. Second semester begins this Tuesday, January 19th for all students. Students who were part of the Lexington One Online Learning Academy (LOOLA) who are choosing to return face-to-face will begin attending on campus this Tuesday. Students who have chosen to begin or remain in the LOOLA program will also begin 2nd semester on this day.

Please see the reminders below for all students who attend Centerville Elementary in the 4+1, face-to face model:

    • Masks are required for all students and visitors. If you do not have a mask upon entry, one will be provided for you.
    • Kindergarten and first grade parents whose child hasn’t attended on campus previously, may walk their child to his/her classroom for their first day only. Parents will be allowed to walk their child up to his/her new classroom door, then promptly exit.
    • 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade parents may only walk their students into the office. We will have extra staff readily available to help walk and show these students to their classroom.
    • If you are a car rider in the afternoon and do not have a car tag, please come by the front office on Tuesday morning to pick up your car tag.
    • In the afternoons, Mr. Burnett and Mrs. Fuller will scan your car tag, while you wait in the car rider line. Please prepare to have your tag ready to scan (passenger side window if you are in the left lane and driver side window if you are in the right lane).
    • We begin scanning at 1:55 and dismissal begins at 2:00. Once we scan your tag, it notifies teachers that your student can be dismissed to the front sidewalk for pick up.
    • We kindly ask that you pull up as far as possible behind the other cars in the car rider line to help keep our car line off of the highway.

As a reminder, it is the responsibility of each family to screen your child each day for any symptoms related to COVID 19 before attending school. Symptoms include:

    • fever greater than 100.0
    • shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • loss of taste or smell
    • new or worsening cough
    • sore throat
    • muscle aches or pain
    • chill
    • fatigue
    • headache
    • congestion or runny nose
    • diarrhea
    • nausea or vomiting

If your child is diagnosed with COVID-19 or is a close contact of someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, please contact our school nurse, Gina Mack. You may reach Nurse Mack, at 803-821-5923 or by email at

That’s all of the announcements for now. We are so excited to begin the second semester with our on-campus and online Aviators! As we like to say here at Centerville - Start here. Go anywhere! We are ready to takeoff for another week filled with learning and fun in 2021!

Noticias semanales de la escuela primaria Centerville

Semana del 18 al 22 de enero de 2021

Buenas noches CES Aviator Families.

    • fiebre superior a 100,0
    • falta de aire o dificultad para respirar
    • pérdida del gusto u olfato
    • tos nueva o que empeora
    • dolor de garganta
    • dolores musculares o dolor
    • frío
    • fatiga
    • dolor de cabeza
    • congestión o secreción nasal
    • Diarrea

• Stronger Together

During this 2020–2021 academic year, Lexington County School District One continues to work to keep our students and staff safe while providing a high-quality education.

We believe that we should keep our internal and external public informed about the impact of COVID-19 on our schools and have created a DASHBOARD which does that. The dashboard, which contains that important information, is updated no later than 12 p.m. each weekday. The student and staff active positive numbers are the number of students and staff with COVID-19. The number of students and staff excluded includes all individuals who exhibited COVID-19-like symptoms or who are on quarantine as close contacts, etc.

As this process continues, we will update this webpage with more information. We hope that you will check back often to learn what we are doing as we navigate that process. We encourage you to share your questions for us by emailing
